If you’re looking for some inspiration to make this Valentine’s Day special, then read on. Crieff is the perfect place for a romantic getaway ❤️
It’s the perfect place to escape from the city
Leave your daily routine and cares behind you for a day or twos relaxation in Crieff. Crieff is not that far from anywhere in Scotland and is a beautifully located and compact quiet town. You can leave the car behind and stroll around it together, or with you four legged friend in tow. Wherever you go you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome. There’s a choice of places to stay from the beautiful Victorian Crieff Hydro, to smaller hotels, friendly B&B’s, pub rooms, self catering cottages, camping or one of the new wooden river hideouts with hot tubs at Braidhaugh Holiday Park.
Take a romantic hand held walk
Everyone has a different idea of what constitutes a romantic walk, some people love the challenge of a Munro together, others prefer a gentle stroll in a park or something in between. Fortunately Crieff offers all of these options and more. For the active types there’s Ben Chonzie (931m) which offers stunning views over Loch Tay. An easier walk which still delivers stunning views is a walk up The Knock, which includes a bit of a steep ascent but is well worth the effort. If this all sounds too energetic by far you could choose to go for a gentle hand held stroll along the picturesque Lady Mary’s Walk which runs alongside the River Earn followed by a stroll around Macrosty Park which boasts some beautiful trees.
You’re spoilt for choice for a romantic dinner
Crieff is a bit of a foodie haven these days with so many delicious places to eat you’ll be spoilt for choice. There’s options for every size of pocket and a wide range of cuisine to chose from. You can eat in a restaurant, café or pub or chose from one of the takeaways and sit on a bench taking in the views whilst enjoying your supper.
Enjoy a romantic drink
After a day out walking, cycling, sight seeing or shopping what could be nicer than cuddling up together with a pint of craft beer, glass of wine or your favourite cocktail in front of a real fire in one of Crieff’s cosy pubs? Some of them offer regular live music, quiz nights or comedy nights if you fancy something a bit noisier.
It’s not like every other high street
Crieff has lots of independent shops still so there’s plenty of places to find a special and unusual valentine’s gift or just for a relaxed mooch around without the crowds, traffic or queues of the city.
